Our True Nature- Taurus New Moon

Taurus New Moon- April 26, 2017 at 5:17 AM PDT

Spring is here! Mother Earth is sharing the beauty of all Her shades of green, everything is lush, vibrant and fertile.  It is the New Moon at 7 degrees of Taurus. Taurus invites us to come out into nature and to make time for the pleasure and sensuality of gifts of Mother Earth, the natural world as well as our bodies. Taurus asks us to slow down and be in the present moment, not looking forward or backward, for the present is where the Divine lives. The evolutionary teaching of Taurus is to find that place of inner calm, to stay rooted like the tree as the storm swirls around us. It is the sign most aligned with the body; it is the temple of our soul and reminds us to care for it. Spring is time to release stagnant energy from the winter through cleanses and increased activity.

Taurus is ruled by the planet Venus. At the time of this New Moon, Venus is in Pisces. Venus is the planet of relationship but also of self-love; how we value ourselves, especially our bodies as gift of Mother Earth . In Pisces, Venus brings the unconditional love of the Universe and the remembrance that we are all connected, we are all One. Saturn in Sagittarius is in a square to Venus at this New Moon which is showing us a challenge to the love and connection that Venus is offering. This challenge is the fear, conditioning and beliefs of our culture. It is the belief that we are not only separate from each other but separate from Source. We can see that this fear of those who are different from us is at a fever pitch right now in our world as we can see with the rise of Donald Trump and Marine Le Pen in France. This has been in our unconscious but is now so clearly visible it can no longer be denied.

Venus is also conjunct Chiron in Pisces at this New Moon which says it is now time to let compassion and radical self-forgiveness be the medicine to help heal this collective wound of separation. As we do we must remember that we have all walked different paths in our souls’ histories as this quote so clearly states, “Each lifetime we will return to walk in the shoes of a different culture until we understand our Oneness.” (Unknown) Now is the time to remember our Unity Consciousness.

The Sabian Symbol for this New Moon is “The Woman Of Samaria At The Ancestral Well.” The story of this symbol is that Jesus meets a Samaritan woman at an ancestral well. The Samaritans were a tribe despised by the Jews. The woman is also unmarried so she is at the fringes of her society. Jesus reveals to her that he is the Messiah. According to Dane Rudhyar, astrologer and mystic, this symbol means, “Jesus, as Avatar incorporating the Christ-Impulse, came to replace the old tribal order with a new order based on Universal Love.” It seems we are going deep into our own ancestral wells and being asked to release old patterns and conditioning to allow Universal Love to enter into our collective consciousness.

Saturn in Sagittarius, which can indicate our ancestral past, is also in a tight trine to Uranus and Mercury in Aries. Trines indicate an easy flow of energy and often bring gifts. Uranus, the Divine Mind, is tightly aligned with Mercury, the human mind, for at least 3 weeks due to the retrograde motion of Mercury right now. This is a very creative time where it may feel like we have our fingers plugged into a light socket as there is so much electricity flowing. It may be hard to sleep but incredible and innovative ideas and insights from the cosmos are flowing in, especially if we have significant points in our natal charts from 24-29 degrees of the cardinal or fire signs. In May the North Node (the way forward) moves into Leo and creates a Grand Fire Trine with Saturn (the past), Mercury and Uranus. This can indicate the meeting of the traditional past and the creative spirit pointing to the future.

As we are given direction for the future we need to remember that the mind must be in service to the heart. We can lose our humanity if the heart is not leading the way. Many indigenous peoples teach that the heart is the primary organ of perception and shows the way forward, the mind then shows how to proceed. A saying from Vedanta is, “The mind is a great servant but a poor master.”

I have been watching a wonderful series on Gaia TV called “Missing Links” with Gregg Braden, geologist and New York Times best-selling author who bridges science and spirituality. The show is about how science is catching up to the teachings from many spiritual and indigenous traditions. Gregg speaks of the necessity of aligning with the “magnetic resonance of the Earth.” He says this is the primary reason for many of the problems we are having now, we are no longer aligned with the energy of Mother Earth. The only way we can realign is through our hearts.  The Institute of Heartmath is doing some amazing research and education around this issue, https://www.heartmath.org/gci/. In the TV series Gregg shares a wonderful prayer to realign our heart with Mother Earth. He says to sit very still in a meditative pose and take some deep breaths. Then put your hands over your heart, drop your consciousness into your heart and feel love, gratitude, appreciation, joy or peace. The feeling is the prayer!   Do this for 3 minutes daily and it can keep you in a state of grace for as long as 6 hours which realigns us with Mother Earth. This is an easy but powerful way to come into the resonance of love. At this Taurus New Moon we are guided to remember who we are and to return to our true nature which is Love.

“In the midst of hate, I found there was, within me, an invincible love.
In the midst of tears, I found there was, within me, an invincible smile.
In the midst of chaos, I found there was, within me, an invincible calm.
In the midst of winter, I found there was, within me, an invincible summer.
And that makes me happy.
For it says that no matter how hard the world pushes against me,
within me, there’s something stronger – something better, pushing right back.”
